Gratitudes. To-Dos. Safe Space. Fun Stuff.
Once a week, a guided four-step check-in that gets the much-needed conversation done and ends on a date night. And every day in between, a 96-second ritual to stay close, together or by voice. Both rituals are free for both of you, and they always will be.
Four steps, in this order.
This is where things actually get said. Good news first, the practical stuff next, then the much-needed conversation held safely, and always something to look forward to.
How to do the weekly ritual, step by step →Start with what went right.
Each of you names two things the other did this week. They're said out loud and saved, so ten rituals in you have forty of them to look back on.
Run the week as a team.
Who's calling the landlord, who's sorting the budget. One shared list, assigned in five minutes, checked off through the week.
Where honesty feels safe.
One of you shares, timed and uninterrupted. The other mirrors it back before responding. The app keeps the clock, provides instructions and examples, and holds what you write, so nobody has to be the referee.
End on a fun note.
Pick the date for the week, plan the trip, add to the bucket list. Every ritual ends on the next good thing.
96 seconds. That's the whole ask.
Between rituals, most days you won't have forty minutes. You'll have a minute and a half. Love Ritual gives you one small thing to do with it, and two ways to do it.
Every day you get to:
Phones down. The app counts the seconds; you don't. Each one is held longer than feels normal, which is the point.
Apart? Send a voice note:
Sixteen seconds to land, then two short voice notes, each picked from a list of prompts: what's on your mind, what you appreciate, and plenty more. They hear it the moment you send it. Do either ritual and your streak keeps going.
Before you start
Why should we do a daily ritual?
Because a week is a long time between check-ins, and ninety-six seconds is short enough to do on a bad day. A kiss, a hug, and a minute of looking at each other. It's the same three steps every night, so it becomes something you do rather than something you plan.
Do we both need the app?
The weekly ritual happens on one phone, together. Each of you needs an account so gratitudes, to-dos and voice messages go to the right person.
How long does the weekly ritual take?
Most couples take 30 to 45 minutes. The Safe Space step is timed so it can't run away from you.
What if my partner doesn’t want to do Love Ritual?
Usually that isn’t resistance to you. It’s resistance to an open-ended conversation that has no agenda, no end time, and the feeling of being told something is wrong. This format has an agenda and an end time: four steps in a fixed order, thirty to forty-five minutes, and it finishes by planning something you’re both looking forward to. So do a single ritual, start with just the gratitudes if that’s easier, and decide together afterwards whether it earned a second. If they’d rather read the case themselves, send them why do a weekly check-in? It goes step by step through what each part is for, and the full guide is there too.
What does it cost?
The weekly and daily rituals are all free to use. In the future we’ll be introducing some paid features that will give you even more powerful ways to connect with your partner, but we will always have some free tools for everyone to use.
